Limited Release 2022 Tempranillo - 12 Pack

VINEYARD REGION: King Valley

THE WINE: Our Limited Release Tempranillo is a wine of substance. Wonderfully, vibrant colour and powerfully aromatics of ripe black fruits, tobacco leaf, aniseed and toasty oak introduce the wine. The palate then bursts forward with ripe fruit flavours of blackcurrant, dark mulberry, satsuma plum and a complex array of bay leaf, liquorice and mocha notes. The palate has excellent generosity and fruit vibrancy, underlined by a velvety structure and long satisfying finish. The wine is a beautiful match with Herb Roasted Spring Lamb Loin. 

THE VINTAGE: The vineyards cycled through the growing season with their own individual rhythm, responding to the challenges of a wet, cool spring, and a long, dry summer to emerge with clean, naturally balanced fruit. The outcome is a low yielding, high quality vintage with strong aging potential.

THE WINEMAKING: Picked on the 6th  April, this wine was a product of the cool and wet growing season. The grapes were crushed to a red fermentation tank and  inoculated with a specially selected yeast from Spain. Regular pump overs for 10 days allow balanced extraction with the fermentation peaking at a temperature of 30°C. The regular pump overs extracted great colour, flavours and tannins that gave intense varietal character and structure to the wine. After fermentation, the wine was matured with premium quality French and American oak, to build flavour, complexity and integration into the wine. The wine was minimally handled to allow maximum expression of the wine’s varietal and regional characteristics.
