THE WINE
The nose offers up an abundance of wild strawberries, cherries and watermelon. These aromas lead to a racy palate brimming with layers of fresh berry fruit, red delicious apples and subtle spice. The wine has a dry, crisp and savoury finish that invites you to take another sip.

Enjoy this wine with Linguine of prawns, mussels and scallops with fresh herbs.

THE VINTAGE
The lead up to vintage 2023 was challenging to say the least. Experiencing a third La Niña year in a row made the 2022-2023 growing season a record-setting year from a weather perspective. With volatile weather conditions at flowering, crops were down in the King Valley, but fruit quality, and ultimately wine quality, is outstanding.

THE WINEMAKING
The best canvas for Rosé are red varietals that achieve optimum maturity (sugar, acid and tannin) at alcohol levels more associated with white wines. Sangiovese, is our canvas to produce world class Rosé. The fruit was picked in the middle of March at 11.7° baumé in the early morning and carefully crushed to press to obtain its beautiful colour and fine tannins. After a few hours it was pressed off skins into tank for settling and sensory assessment. Racked carefully, a cool and constant fermentation at 16°C was completed over 3 weeks. This allowed the retainment of its colour, varietal aromas and flavours while providing fine tannins and mouthfeel. The wine was left on fine lees with stirring to protect the freshness of the wine while adding further complexity.
