International Tempranillo Day

International Tempranillo Day

It’s International Tempranillo Day, so what better time to tell you all about this delicious variety! Tempranillo (pronounced temp-ra-nee-yo) is a noble Spanish variety that continues to gain popularity in Australia due to its approachability and versatility. The medium-bodied red is juicy and spicy, with rich cherry and plum flavours, often with hints of chocolate and vanilla depending on oak treatment. Tempranillo is delicious with antipasto and cheese and of course Spanish dishes such as tapas and Spanish slow-cooked lamb shanks.

Victorian Alps Wine Co.'s The Buffalo 2021 Tempranillo is a beautiful representation of the variety, featuring aromas of blood plum and black cherry with hints of ground coriander and chocolate lead to a palate of dark berries, chocolate tannins and a rich textured finish.
